Have seen Aarakshan yesterday and have not found a single instance which is close to be considered to be banned in any state unless politicians align with the characters in the movie and be threatened.
Overall a good thought provoking movie. I am against caste based reservations but this movie highlight the fact that it is one of the ways broad development across all classes of the society can be achieved with reservations. Also it makes an assumption that all so called lower caste people are economically challenged.
One of the best messages from the movie I liked is the fact that one solution to this problem is to provide the challenged people opportunities to grow themselves and compete along with other with privileges to resources.

makemytrip.com Horror Story
I was recently suggested that Makemytrip.com was a good source to get cheap tickets to travel to India from the US. I approached the site asked them for the price for the tickets and was happy with the price even though they were not the cheapest but got decent price and looking at their web presence and response to support by chat I picked this instead of my regular travel agent and purchased 2 tickets. All seemed good I signed up with the airlines with miles etc to take advantage of the benefits that are available and was waiting for my travel date to approach and reach India to spend some time with family and friends.
The day is tomorrow and I logged in online to print the itinerary and boy I was shocked to see that one segment of my flight was cancelled and was booked for next day and I had to spend more than 24 hours in Dubai. No email update of this change no notice. I immediately called the agents and informed them that it is not acceptable travel plan and why was I not informed. The response was that they were working to find an alternative 15 hours before the departure. They kept on pointing that airlines they booked tickets on is not doing it fast and we have to wait. After waiting 4 hours the situation was the same no change and they asked us to wait for few more hours. I decided that I should find myself out what's wrong with the airlines and called Jet (the segment operator) and the response from them was that the travel agent or United ( my primary segment) can only change the ticket as the document was owned by United. I then called up United to find this out and the response was that only makemytrip.com can change the ticket. Its lasted for an hour with the loop and finally 7 hours before departure I put United, Jet and makemytrip.com in a conference and they talked some technical travel agent terms and were able to book the ticket on a different flight. The agents could have easily done this with out my involvement but they had to show their incompetence. So the travel on 1st ticket to India was this much fun.
Now the story on the 2nd ticket travel.
Day before the travel the status online on the itinerary has all tickets confirmed so I was happy went in to the airport got my boarding passes for first segment and was told my second segment operated by Emirates was not a partner and had to go to their transit desk to get the boarding pass. I felt its ok and travelled to Dubai and on reaching the travel desk at Dubai for Emirates they said that my ticket was cancelled for this segment as the travel agent did not confirm the ticket he has only make a booking. I was denied boarding and was forced to buy another ticket at full price on this plane to go to India. I am now waiting on makemytrip.com to give me an answer why this happed and what is the remidy for the extra amount I had to pay for my travel. Its been a month and no answer yet. I will update this blog after I get a response from makemytrip.com other than wait for few more days as we have escalated this issue for the response which is the standard answer.
Will I ever use makemytrip.com again ? No way.

Atleast they did the right thing but late.
